SSC CGL Tier 1 Results: A Long-Awaited Announcement
The wait is almost over! The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has confirmed that the highly anticipated results of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier 1 exam will be revealed by December, putting an end to the speculation. This news will undoubtedly bring a mix of excitement and anxiety to the thousands of candidates who sat for the exam.
But here's the catch: the results were initially expected sooner, as the exams took place over a two-week period in September 2025, across an impressive 45 shifts. The sheer scale of the operation is remarkable, with 4,500 questions across 45 papers! And this is where it gets interesting: candidates were given the opportunity to challenge these questions, leading to a rigorous review process.
A unique feature of the SSC exams: the question challenge process. From October 17 to 19, candidates raised around 1,000 objections to the questions. These challenges are not taken lightly; they are sent back to the original question setters for scrutiny. And this is the part most people miss: if any corrections are required, the commission ensures they are made before finalizing the results. This meticulous approach guarantees fairness but also adds complexity and time to the process.
SSC Chairman S. Gopalakrishnan shared his insights with NDTV, stating that the results will be available on the official website - ssc.gov.in. He acknowledged the delay, attributing it to the thorough review process and the vast number of questions and shifts involved. The chairman assured candidates that the results will be out by December, with Tier-2 exams anticipated for early 2026.
The Tier 1 exam attracted a massive response, with 13.5 lakh candidates out of 28 lakh registered appearing for the test across 255 centres in 126 cities. The response sheet, released on October 17, provided candidates with essential details, including their roll number, name, exam and post applied for, exam date, test time, and centre name.
